This recipe came straight outta left field. I can’t even trace the background and inspiration trail on this wacka-doodle combo. But, I served it recently at a dinner party and the entire plate was annihilated within a few minutes, except for one. You know, anytime there’s a plate of appetizers and everyone is too courteous to be the person who takes the last one? Yep, this was that kind of crowd. But, courteous or not, people dig these wontons stuffed with BBQ beef and blue cheese.
One note on the blue cheese: I recommend a mild blue like a Danish, if you’re serving these at a party. We had a blue cheese hater at the party, but after the rave reviews from everyone else, they were pressured into trying one. The verdict? Not bad! So yeah, there’s a hint of blue cheese, but if it’s mild, chances are the majority of your dinner guests will enjoy them.
Also, on the BBQ sauce, pick your favorite brand. You can’t go wrong with your favorite BBQ sauce.
