These Bacon Jalapeno Peaches are a sweet and savory favorite for any outdoor fiesta. Tailgate, birthday party, random Tuesday afternoon snack. Really, whenever you plan to have the grill going and want an easy while impressive appetizer, these little nuggets will fit the bill.
First thing, start with peaches. If you’re in proximity to Colorado during peach season, then obviously go for those. But, otherwise, as long as your peaches are ripe and sweet, you’ll be ready to rock.
Next, pick your bacon. This is an important step, and not one to be taken lightly. Bacon is serious business, right? For doing any kind of wrapping, I go for the standard cut. Thick cut is too difficult to work with because it doesn’t wrap and cling well. The other tip I can offer is to wrap the peaches up with the bacon well ahead of time and refrigerate them so that the fat firms up and the bacon adheres well. It makes it easier to keep the bacon in place when you get to the grilling.
Finally, the jalapenos. If you don’t want heat, then a mild pepper will do fine. But, if you’re living on the edge, hit it with habanero if you so desire. Don’t let me stop you!
Then, once you’ve wrapped ’em and chilled ’em, throw them on the hot grill, turning occasionally to ensure they’re evenly cooked and properly crisped up. Serve them with cool ranch and your party guests will sing your praises. That sweet, salty, spicy combo will undeniably be the hero of your get-together.
