Description

Fried wontons stuffed with blue cheese and BBQ beef.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef stew meat, chopped
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp steak seasoning
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 48 wonton wrappers
  • 4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • frying oil (vegetable, canola)

Instructions

  1. Rub the stew meat with paprika, salt, and steak seasoning and allow to marinate at least 20 minutes.
  2. Next, place the stew meat in a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water and pressure cook on high for 25 minutes until the beef pulls apart easily.
  3. Remove beef from the pressure cooker, shred and place in a bowl with 1 cup of BBQ sauce and toss to combine.
  4. Place 1 wonton wrapper on a work surface, place a tsp of shredded beef and BBQ sauce in the middle of it along with a generous pinch of blue cheese. Follow package directions to fold the wonton into a star shape by pinching in the 4 sides.
  5. Heat oil in a pot at least 1 inch deep to 375F and then drop in wontons one at a time with up to five in the pot at once, turning occasionally until golden brown all over.
  6. Serve with drizzled extra BBQ sauce and diced green onions.
