S’mores Blondie Bars

You know those things that you sit and wonder, “how hard are those to make?”  I never even asked that question in regard to marshmallows because I figured they were super complicated.  Turns out, they’re not at all!  On top of that, they taste a bazillion times better than store-bought, making this S’mores Blondie Recipe a new family favorite.  Oh, and it involves fire, so you know Ryan loves it.

This recipe is a mash-up of Bobby Flay’s Blondie Bar (say that 10 times fast) and Smitten Kitchen’s Marshmallows.  After 6 rounds of testing, it was decided that cutting Bobby’s Blondie recipe by half yielded the best balance of blondie to chocolate to mallow ratio.  But, I’ll let you decide.  The original recipe for his Blondie can be found at FoodNetwork.com. The recipe I have been using and love with this bar is below.

Want to toast your mallows and don’t have a blow torch like I used in the video?  You can pick a small brulee torch at your local restaurant supply store at a reasonable price.

Now, the only question is how well “browned” do you like your mallows?  I go for blackened 🙂
